hi foreverfriendsuntiltheendoftime! how are you all. i'm giving up non-school related internet for lent so i'm not going to be using this for about 40 days, so contacting me via facebook or here would not be the most efficient way, capiche! :)

so i have not been as busy as jeff, you crazy all-over-the-placer-long-poster you! but things of course are starting to get a little hectic. work is a lot of...work! seriously here. tiring stuff, but fun stuff. i'm designing this website right now, and my dreamweaver's purdy rudimentary but hey i'm learning as i go!

i'm going to a ra ra riot concert on the 27th. i'm stoked. and i went to andrew bird concert last week, man, that was, well, amazing. he's probably.. hmm i'd say 10 million times better live. wow. and the best part!: he left his water bottle on stage, and my friend and i got to take it! the stage manager just stared at us blankly when we asked, probably thinking we were maniacal fans with weird fetishes, which is partially true. anywhosers yes, i got to drink his water! hooray! the thing is though he's been sick for 5 weeks according to his blog...so yep. oh well, at least if i get sick i'll be sick from andrew bird germs. tomorrow afro cuban all stars are performing at berkeley auditorium, i would've seriously gone if i knew! but i just found out today and now the ticket's $44. i'm thinking that's a definite IMpossibility. haha

so ive been busy with life
work, school, other stuff
ive been working on my portfolio recently
like nonstop
i need to finish it soon
preferably at the end of the month
i have to like cook some stuff and take some good pictures to put into my portfolio
i have a feeling its gonna be really good
and ive been working on a 5-course menu idea thing
not really because i want to haha
well its fun i guess cuz i learn more about things
but because i have to for the externship for playboy mansion
i think i have a good shot at it too
i was talking with the lady and she said that not a lot of people try for it
maybe like 3 or 4 because of lots of things
people dont know about it or they have other places in mind
we're competing with other schools too though
but she said that playboy likes our school the best
thats what i like to hear
i need to find a backup externship place though
i was thinking of trying for disneyworld
i have to commit for 6 months though
same with disneyland
but room and board arent free
i found another place thats in ALASKA
its gonna be so fuckin cold @-@
but its free EVERYTHING
its even a paid externship
but i cant do it
cuz i have to attend this meeting and timewise it just doesnt work

oh we got two new kids in our class
well theyre from a later schedule in the day but they switched to the morning
cuz they have jobs i guess so they had too to keep them
i kinda feel bad for them though
noone talks to them
and they only talk to each other
mainly cuz theyre both from the same class
they look so lonely too =/
i would go and talk with them but thats not really the kind of guy i am
i dont initiate things haha
like if a conversation started going
then itd be easy cuz im the kind of person to just roll into a conversation
not start one
so id feel weird just going up to them and talking to them
and id just like freeze and try and think up of stuff to say to them
and thatd be sad cuz then its like im trying to muster something up
and i hate that
but yea
hopefully ill get to know them better soon

im gonna be working at Cocoa bakery in city of industry
its owned by some asian lady named grace and she makes like specialty cakes
wedding cakes, birthdays, babys....yup
i dont get paid though
but its a good learning opportunity
i start march 6

i imagine just making like buttercream all day
i doubt shed let me just head straight into the actual cake stuff
but hopefully she'll trust me enough eventually to let me do things

that is so gross guys...really?? black licorice ONLY for the REST of your life?! ?!?! well i guess relatively, its not that bad but still hahah

anywhosers, hi again, its thursday! thursday = the new friday, so obviously i am happy and stoked! classes are going swell, and a lot of them really interest me now! i especially dig journalism, and environmental health. we're learning all these ways you can contract foodborne illnesses and such, and it is wicked. apparently over 25% of Asian-Americans have a tapeworm in their digestive system, and there was this one tapeworm that grew so long that it couldn't fit in all 20 feet of this guy's GI tract that it started growing out of his mouth and just slithered out one day and ended up living in his bathtub, and him keeping it as a pet! i have no idea why there would be just standing water in that bath tub but hey it makes for a good story! BUT anyways, it feels good to wake up and plan out your day with classes and studying and clubs and all the shebang, ain't it? well aside from all the evil stress that is, its nice hahah.

nothing really new of note, whenever someone asks me, what's up? i never know what to say except, "oh, you know, school" i wish i were more interesting. oh speaking of interesting, well i guess this is more embarrassing than anything, is the fact that i keep hurting people but then somehow end up becoming friends with them! like this morning, i was racing downstairs because i was late for chem and i pretty much body slammed this guy going upstairs. that was not fun but hey he was nice about it and anybody whose nice enough after an incident like that is someone i want to meet! so i talked to him and his name's raphael, which is what i want to name my 5th son if i ever get one! is that a co-wink-ee-dink or WHAT?! and then there's the girl i met first week who i spilled smoothie all over, and now we always get smoothies on wednesdays. funny how things work out sometimes, you never know how you're going to get to meet people!

on that note, though, i'm getting kind of annoyed introducing myself to people. of course it's nice to get to know them but sometimes i try and i just totally get an arctic shoulder! like for example, yesterday, i said, "hi my name's marvin" and this guy said, in a petulant voice i might add "uhh what?". and i said "hi my name's marvin, what's yours?" and he said "oh okay." hm. maybe he didn't hear me, but that's not the first time something like that has occurred. well i'm still going to try, because, well what's that saying? you've got to pick all the fruits, even if some of them are rotten! that's not a saying, because i just made that up. well not to say that he's rotten, just that, hm, maybe he's one of those fruits that you don't like at first, but he eventually becomes an acquired taste! like avocado! yes! he's an avocado! eventually i hope to make tasty guacamole out of him and dip nachos of friendship in it! :) here's hoping!

Orange Chicken

So here's a story of orange chicken.
I went to eat lunch today with Mike, Karn, Matt and Andrew at Thai Corner (their soup is so delicious!), and I ordered yum-stuff orange chicken! It was fun with lots laughs and stuff :) I couldn't finish the big load of chicken so I took the rest in a to-go box. Class goes by, and hooray hooray no sociology again! So I happen to see that there's a blood drive going on today! I've always wanted to give blood, so I went back to my car and grabbed my leftover orange chicken and ate every ounce left in that to-go box, desperate to reach 110 pounds, the minimum weight to give blood. The nice lady let me weigh myself in the nurse's office, and I scored a 109.5! Round that up to 110 man!! : ) So feelin confident, I go into the Blood drive room, take little tests, get my middle finger stabbed (which didn't really hurt, yess), and then start the blood-giving jigmajig! It took a little longer than I assumed, but it eventually finished. After it was all done, I was thinking yeahh no fainting or whatnot. But a few seconds later, my stomach starts feeling gross, and then before you know it the phlebotomist has a trashcan next to my face. -____-. And there went all the orange chicken that I shoved down my throat before the blooddrive, into the trashcan. What a waste of money, huh? haha! But it feels like that orange chicken was there to help me give the blood though! An hour later I got super drowsy and tired haha. It still felt really cool being able to give blood, but yeah that won't be happening for a while! On top of that I can now find out what my blood type is! What's all you guys' blood types? :)
So I should'a just waited to blog today instead of yesterday huh? Anywho, I can't think of anything else exciting today. I hope everyone's doing well :) Sorry if that was sort of a gross story : / but that was my event for prob the whole week haha!

Valentine's Day

HEY! Is it totally out of character that I wanna plan something for once? ahahhaha
Well I texted most of you guys a little while ago, but imma mention it here again!
So, since Jane and Ashley (probably) have plans for Vday, let's do something the day after! I kind of have this party thing with my hall mates saturday, but I'll still be coming home cuz I'll be darned if I'm spending my monday off at school! :p So yap, I was thinking we could all fudge out at someone's (my) house eating ice cream and chocolate! Hot chocolate! and probably romantic comedies, tis the season and all. But then Ashley says she's prolly not coming back this weekend. :(
So I was thinking of going down to UCSD and KIDNAPPING HER cuz, well, turns out my family doesn't only have 1 car left. We have two. news to me O-o SO YAH I can afford to crash one? hahah bad way of thinking about things, im knocking on wood as I type, but the basic idea is that I LOVE ASHLEY THAAAAAT MUCH. And Jazmine totally challenged me to it too. She says I can't do it. but I believe in ME! hurhur. But I dont know if i love Ashley enough to drive her back to UCSD afterwards >_< SO HOW BOUT THIS: if the weather isn't too bad on sunday, let's all take a road trip down to UCSD! hahah its just an idea right now, so let's discuss rides later <__<;; Cuz I realized I've never visited people at school, 'cept ashleigh.... hurk. yah so text me about it! Hi. There hasn't really been anything new going on recently, so there's nothing really to post about. Despite that I'm still blogging. This week is the last week for intersession, so that's sorta exciting! History of Jazz was really interesting at first, but it gradually became more and more boring. -___- bummer. Thank goodness there's a video that buys time during class! Sociology was interesting from the moment the class started, and it still is! Even the vids are swt. Thank goodness. So if anyone wants to take an elective, I say sociology>history of jazz. :) Does anybody see how boring my life is? Talking about my classes. -____-. It's sadly taking up a huge amount of my time though. Denngit aha.
There's something about me and japanese dramas. I always get hooked on them! They're just so touching, funny, and inspiring!! This one I'm watching is called CODE BLUE. About these 4 doctors who are tryin to be helicopter doctors. mm so cool! Hmm, besides this awesome drama, I've just been taking piano lessons, trying to work out with my mom's weights, and... not too much more. Maybe the next blog will be more exciting. I can't wait to get going with my life. When something rad happens I'll let you all know :) Man I wish there was something good to say today, haha!!

two weeks in!

Hello, that cat picture just cracks me up!
But anyways, hi errrone sorry it's been so long! But i've been kind of cut off from the internet (well the "non academic" stuff at least) due to a bet i have with my friend - if we don't wake up each morning and run, then we can't use the internet for 3days. And yeah i guess you could say we've overslept more than once -__- but here i am! Okay, recap on recent stuff you ask?

Ummmmmmmm i don't know,oh, i'm seriously contemplating summer school because well it just seems like the wise decision right? I feel if I don't do it, I'll be at home being not-as-productive-as-I-would-like-to-be, which is how breaks usually work out for me. And summer school lasts for around June to August, so technically I would have about a month of break, which is quite satisfactory imo! But we'll see because, well, the whole money thing. And the fact that I won't be able to see y'all for quite a while once again! What a Dilemma! You notice how dilemma is capital right?! Capital D!

Jonathan Lin's birthday was the other day! Let me tell you about that, because, that's pretty much as interesting as it goes for me. But it was quite fun, we surprised him, and it was pretty fn hard to keep it a secret. We decided to surprise him on the night of his birthday, kind of to throw him off from the whole midnight surprise shebang, so, of course, people were wishing him Happy Birthday the whole day, and we would just be "..." and he must've been thinking "WHAT KIND OF FRIEND ARE YOU!?!" But it still turned out alright! Josephine, Jonathan, Ben, and our friend Brandon from Diamond Bar hiked up to the Big C that day, which is a Big C (surprise surprise right) on top of the Berkeley Hills, with a killer sweet view of all of Berkeley, San Francisco, pretty much the whole Bay Area. I remember when I first went to the Big C this summer during Senior Weekend, and when I saw that glowing bay, I was essentially sold. And the view was just as good this time, this time even better because I felt like I owned that view, that that view was part of me now, I knew what all the buildings were now, I knew that this was my new home! Does that make sense?! Hahah afterwards we went back to the dorms and surprised Jon in Josephine's room, then we went to Andrew Lee's house and used EVERY SINGLE word on taboo, so, i'm pretty much OVER taboo. FUNNY EXAMPLE:
B: Okay, a male body part
M: Umm penis!
B: err no, a male body part and superman's real name!
M: uhh clark kent?
B: Yeah, with a male body part!
M: Umm Penis Kent..? Penisman?
B: No, uhhhm what you use to pee out of

that, btw, was the simplified version. hohooo it was fun while it lasted. after, we played with Ben's camera and some lights! i'm the yellow light, the one that sucks haha. And that was Jon's birthday in a nuthshell! Yee oh and my floormate's birthday was the day after. Okay hmm this is kind of interesting, so maybe I'll write about that too! Maybe I will! Okay maybe I'm starting it in a new paragraph because this one's getting lengthy!

Ruvani (my floormate) was turning 19 sooooo we
went to this vegetarian restaurant called Herbivore. I officially love that place, it is too good too be veggie! I had: soy chicken fried rice! Does that not sound good? Plump, steaming brown rice mixed with marinated eggplant, caramelized carrots, sprigs of green vegetables that I don't remember, and succulent [soy] chicken! Yes, you want some, I can see it in your eyes! Afterwards they went back to my friend Rachel's dorm room to "pre-game" which I did not know what that meant, but I now do know what that means hahahaha. To be honest it was kind of scary, the goody too shoes in me was thinking maybe I should leave...but I decided to stay! They drank sex on the beaches and whiskey sours and got drunk while I drank Odwalla Mango Tango (THE best) and people thought I was drunk! Alright! I was really afraid one of the RA's would come in and bust us but it was all gewd, we wanted to go Karaoke at this Japanese place but it would be 10 dollars per person! Can you believe that shizang. But it's free if you eat there, so next time, we're just gonna eat there, because, uhh a plate would cost 10 bones anyways! Makes sense!

So that was my excessively detailed account of the past few days! School's not so interesting, so I'll just say this sentence to summarize how school is!

School is alright.

ALTHOUGH sorry I lied again, I'm taking this Upper Division Public Health class on Environmental Health Science and the Germ Theory of Disease, which is actually quite fascinating! I'm taking so few units this semester, the bare minimum, and I feel bad, but I want to just see how this works out as opposed to that murderous coursework (and weaksausage GPA to match...)! And I'm applying for the Daily Cal, the newspaper at Berkeley, so hopefully that works out to give me some much desired units! And how bout you guyssss how are your classes going? Tell me tell me now tell me as soon as you finish reading this.!

Man I really surely do miss you guys right about now and always. I miss your guys' voices more than anything else. We should all record ourselves with Audacity or something and post it here! That would be nice and creepy. I guess that's all I got for now, I'm not going to write my name and you'll have to guess who this aHA sucker! Alright take care amigos! :):)

A new opportunity

Nothing really big happened to me since my last post
Well a friend that i know through work got me the hookup with his aunt
Who apparently went to the Cordon Bleu in France
And she owns this bakery somewhere near my work
So i might be training from her for awhile
I dont get paid for it but its all good
I still need to figure out my externship but at least this is a good starting point
