kso, school is winding down and not a moment too soon. well actually, maybe a moment or so too soon. ok that was just confusing. what i mean is, i want more time to raise my grades! i am hardcore focus study workhard concentrate after i finish this post! OKAY. only one more month until i come home! :) ACTUALLY even less, i'm coming home at the beginning of may for a dragonboat race at long beach! i'll be here on jeff's bday, but i don't think i can see anybody, sorry :/ you guys are welcome to watch though! though granted it may be a tad boring hahaha
so err..ohh i feel like i'm spending meal points like a mad voracious thing that spends a lot of meal points! i'm supposed to have $400 right now and i think i have $200something. HA! actually, there are times when i care, like now, but most of the time, i.e, when i'm in the store itself, i just spend spend spend! today: grilled chees $1.99 (ripoff), yogurt parfait $2.99 (also ripoff), vanilla soymilk $2.99 (HUGE ripoff, that thing's microscopic), dinner $7.99 (this is actually worth it. we had mac&cheese and garlic bread today. oh geeez. you cannot touch that. and they had golden grahams and did NOT run out of soymilk!:D). seriously though all the food is good, its just mega overpriced! it's like my mind just thinks, whenever i pass by the market: YOU CAN GET FREE FOOD MARVIN. GO GET IT. IT'S CALLING YOU. and answer it i do! hopefully i don't starve haha.
OH and by the by i got my first article published! well to be published that is! it's an article about "pharming" or rather, using livestock like goats, cows, etc for usage as pharmaceutical vessels. it's really interesting quite frankly, this company has developed a therapeutic drug from goat's milk! they insert a gene for the certain protein, which is normally found in humans, into a goat which then passes that that gene down to its offspring, and humans can thereby drink that goat's milk to compensate for their lack of that protein. it provides a really economically viable route to helping people with inherent blood clotting disorders, BUT, like any branch of biotech and genetic engineering it traipses on this delicate ethical no-no line. and, hm, i guess that's all i can say about that haha.
last week i applied for this internship/scholarship thingerbobber called Destination: College. it's a program that i think sounds awesome - you get to work as a mentor for a high school in the bay area and provide counseling, support, and resources to underpriveleged students and help them get into college. not only that, you get paid AND get a $5000 scholarship. sounds suhweet huh! well i'm not doing it =___= anticlimax, sorry haha. even though i really want to, i KNOW i will not have time next semester, and it sounds like a job that could really be really stressful and i guess, what's the word, involving? and plus i don't think i'm quite mature enough for it anyways, in spite of what a great exp. it could be! well anyways, the real story is, i wasn't sure if i was doing it or not still, but it was really close to the interview so i didnt want to be rude so i went to the interview anyways, and bygolly i got it! :) but then, ooff, because it was a group interview, other people didn't get it and were mad -______- so then i went back and told the guy that i didn't think i was going to do it after all, and mad did he blow a gasket. and now those other people who didn't get it, still don't want to do it, so now, seems like NOBODY wants to do it, so i might just do it. can i get a major ironic =______________________________=. yeah. i need to learn a lesson from that. i'm not quite sure what it is though. opinions welcome.
oo o o o i thought of something else to updatecha on! we're looking for apartments right now, aisha it is so hard to find a good one. something's always too expensive, too far, too janky, too shady, or we're too late or SOMETHING. but, i know we'll find a place. we have to, right?! right. we're going to find a place that's too perfect. living in an apartment sounds tantalizing to me. doesn't it?! first time EVER living on your own, well aloneish, but paying for rent and cooking for yourself and other things that are kind of scary but oh so exciting. can't wait to have my own space! i want to be clean in the apartment, and i want to fix my bed everyday, and keep my bathroom supplies tidy, and use windex to clean the windows! but i doubt i'll do any of those things when it comes down to it ha ha ha ha and i want plants! fyi, my third cactus, sailor venus, died the other day he fell down the side of the table and into the crack and i didn't even notice!! :( i am a bad plant caretaker. but no longer! i want a freaking greenhouse in that apartment, wherever it may be, and i will take good care of them! hahaha AND i think we're getting a tv, aw crap, the very essence of distraction. i could go on but you get the gist apartment = new, fascinating, hard to find! you got that?!
OHYAH AND this summmer im taking classes at mt. sac, not berkeley thank gewdness. masumi and i wanna take a class together and you, yes you should join! unless this is masumi reading this, then i suppose you shouldn't join because uh you're already included in that reference. well i guess you could but then that's just confusing cus then it would be me, masumi, and you, but you = masumi so that's just uh marvin + 2masumi? and where would this other masumi come from..kay shuddup now marvin! idk what i want to take, but there aren't that many classes. i just want to take something fun! like a language or art or computer class or someshing. nothing too intense thank you very much. and also, this summer i'm going back to alaska for that same conservation program i did last year! this time i'm going to be a conservation mentor for other high school students! :) should be a blast as usual, this time i want to go ziplining forshore!
OKAY, i think that's everything that's been going on with me, WHEW that took a good chunk outta my studying time! i hope midterms are going alright with you guys? or whatever things you got going on in your life! hope to talk to you soon. and MAN i've been craving me some amusement park lately, can WE PLEASE GO OVER SUMMER?!?!?!?!?
